Bradley Pratt

Hello!

My name is Bradley Pratt, and I am an enthusiastic and versatile graphic designer with over 10 years of experience. I excel in branding, art direction, motion graphics, photography, UI/UX, and a wide range of design disciplines.

I've been lucky enough to have worked on incredible projects for Parliament, government, private and public sectors, education, entertainment and animal conservation brands. My work has been seen in print and on screens (from phones to cinemas) around the world.

Outside of work, I live in Ngaio with my soon-to-be husband and our two cats. I'm a keen whale watcher, hobbyist photographer, and collector of autographs, statues and music. You can often find me wandering around Wellington Zoo or enjoying a spontaneous road trip.

Over the years, I've worked as an in-house and full-time designer in various roles while also doing freelance and volunteer work. I've found it helps me stay energised and inspired by mixing up the type of projects I'm focusing on.
Full-time work

After studying animation and graphic design, I cut my teeth as NEC New Zealand's sole graphic designer for over four years, which expanded into working on projects across Australia, Singapore, Japan, Malaysia and the Philippines. After that I moved around to work at a variety of roles: start-ups (Pricemaker, OnVideo Media and Outward), small businesses (Arada Promotions), education (Open Polytechnic), the public service (Fire and Emergency NZ) and Parliament (Parliamentary Service in the Labour Leader's Office and part-time with the New Zealand Labour Party).

Freelance and volunteering

I'm a strong believer in animal conservation and am passionate about the film and music industries. Some of my favourite volunteer work has included rebranding Project Jonah and collaborating with their team on fundraisers, designing fundraising pins for Wellington Zoo's snow leopards exhibit, and modernising the fundraising videos for the 2020 New York International Children's Film Festival. I was also very proud to be part of the New Zealand International Film Festival team in various roles from 2013 to 2022.

Project Jonah New Zealand logo

Bradley approached us at the start of Level 4 lock-down offering his graphic design services and we jumped at the opportunity to work with such a gifted and creative designer! After consultation with some of our key supporters on some of Bradley’s initial concepts, the project pivoted from what we thought would be a brand new online design to an update of our current brand. Throughout the process Bradley produced polished and professional concepts. His work was timely and he was happy to take on our feedback and explore different ideas. We are thrilled with the finished product and are now looking to expand our original plan to use the finished logo on merchandise. Thank you Bradley for your thoughtfulness, creativity and skill.

Bee Fresh Farms New Zealand logo

I have had the pleasure of working with Bradley Pratt since 2016. I’m really pleased that he has been there from the start to help us nurture our fledgling brand, Wellington Manuka Honey Company, as well as Bee Fresh Farms. One of the main benefits of working with Bradley is that it feels like he treats our business as his own. He makes suggestions and recommendations that we would not have thought of, and takes an ongoing interest beyond projects which are on the go. I trust that Bradley is taking care of us. He stays in touch and I appreciate his responsiveness and good humour, especially when lead times are short. I look forward to an ongoing working relationship with him.
