As a zoo fanatic and a big supporter of Wellington Zoo, taking a moment to relax, spend time with the beautiful Asha and Manju and take these photos was a wonderful way to spend an afternoon in May 2024.
The previous month had marked one year since their arrival at the zoo. My involvement in fundraising for their exhibit with the design of wood pins that were sold at the zoo shop was one of my all-time favourite projects and a true honour to have been a part of.
The photography was used by the zoo across social media, and they later asked if I would be happy with my photos being used in campaigns. In September 2024, the zoo announced snow leopard close encounters would be available, and the campaign began rolling out across Wellington in digital billboards, posters, and the official zoo map. The campaign was designed by the Zoo's incredible in-house creative team.
This was a dream come true for me, both as a photographer and fan of Wellington Zoo, and I could not be prouder to see my images out in the wild. My partner and I had a close encounter with Asha the snow leopard and loved it - visit the zoo and book yours today!
